keyboardergonomicFDM

Overview

This project is a custom-designed case for the Corne split mechanical keyboard. The goal is to create an ergonomic enclosure that integrates wrist rests directly into the case design, eliminating the need for separate accessories.

Design Goals

  • Integrated wrist rests that maintain proper typing angle
  • Hot-swap socket compatibility for easy switch changes
  • Tenting support with adjustable angles (5, 10, 15 degrees)
  • Cable routing channels built into the case walls
  • TRRS jack mounting with strain relief

Current Progress

The initial CAD design is complete and the first prototype has been printed in PLA for fit testing. The next iteration will address:

  1. Tighter tolerances on the PCB mounting posts
  2. Revised cable channel routing
  3. Switch to PETG for the final version

Print Settings

  • Material: PLA (prototype), PETG (final)
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Infill: 20% gyroid
  • Supports: Tree supports for the wrist rest overhang
